Todd Nix for District 2 Commissioner

Todd Nix
for Commissioner: Because Experience Matters

With a life of service to our country and community, it is with great excitement that I ask for your support this election for County Commissioner.

The Commissioner of District 2 has about half the county and half the city, including western rural Lauderdale County, and City Council Districts 1, 2, 5, and 6. This is a large amount of territory that also creates a wealth of opportunities to promote our area with state and federal representatives. My past experiences have allowed me the opportunity to build relationships with these individuals and advocate for bringing your tax money back home.

I will return calls, emails, and requests for assistance. We must have great leadership that takes care of the needs of all stakeholders.

Todd Nix

Our greatest resource is our children, and I pledge to work closely with our school system. With nine years in the education field now, I will use my experience to be a strong advocate for teachers with local, state, and federal officials.

The backbone of our community is made up of county and city employees. I pledge to work towards policies and procedures that are beneficial and available to all employees and stakeholders.

My career has been spent ensuring others are safe while having a better quality of life. I will work hard to make sure your safety is a priority by advocating for better funding for our Sheriff’s Office as well as Animal Control. Additionally, I believe our firefighters are vital and need proper funding. The same goes for departments responsible for maintaining roads or collecting trash weekly.

In this election, you’re looking to elect someone who can act as a CEO-type person representing you now as well as in the future when it comes to your money matters. Your Commissioner will decide how $36 million dollars of your tax money gets spent. Too often we vote without realizing this opportunity we have—to hire/elect someone who can shape our future not just ours but also that belonging to our kids and grandchildren. Our current state of
government, from federal to local, challenges us to see this as a chance to provide the best opportunities for our future.

When you look ahead and realize you can’t be everywhere at once but still want someone who can be your voice and represent you, that’s where my experience comes in. My background includes administration, law enforcement, military service, education policies and procedures, as well as emergency medical care.

I love this county and its people. I have chosen to live here my entire life through tough times and great times.

My journey began at 10 years old as a Times Daily Paperboy. I joined the Army at 17 years old and worked my way up from being a volunteer to an Administrator before entering the field of education.
